Air Plains Services was founded in 1977 by Mike Kelley and has since grown to become the industry leader in engine and airframe modifications. Air Plains is called on by some of the biggest names in aviation for advice, opinions and expertise. Conveniently located in the south central plains of Kansas at the Wellington Municipal Airport, just 20 miles south of Wichita.

Wellington, KS. (Aug. 12, 2017) – Air Plains Services announced today it will be on hand at the AOPA Fly-In in Norman, Oklahoma, September 8-9th, with a static display featuring Cessna 182 equipped with Air Plains Extreme Performance aircraft engine upgrades for Cessna single-engine pistons as well as its full range of parts and services for a variety of aircraft models.

"We're excited to be exhibiting at a place so close to home!" said Katie Church, head of sales and marketing at Air Plains. "While our XP upgrades and kits headline the display, we'll be ready to talk with the pilot community about any of our services, from maintenance solutions and complete refurbishment to spare parts, including our popular airbox replacements."

Air Plains, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, built its global reputation with its Cessna 172, 180 and 182 turn-key solutions for higher horsepower engines, opening the door to more power, better climb performance and speed, and greater agility and range. Air Plains not only installs the upgrades at its facility in Wellington, it ships complete XP kits across the globe – more than 3,000 to date.

Air Plains also performs a wide array of scheduled maintenance and inspection activities, custom airframe and interior work and specializing in custom avionics panels, engine analyzer installations, ADS-B solutions, airframe repair, and complete tech support.
